The Special Development Fund (SDF) is the driving force behind the Caribbean Development Bank's (CDB) poverty reduction efforts in its Borrowing Member Countries.

The SDF is CDB's largest pool of concessionary funds. Since 1984, the SDF has provided over USD2.1 billion in loans and grants to address the Region's social development challenges through targeted interventions which positively impact on the lives of the Region's people. Focal areas include water security, education, infrastructure, poverty reduction, capacity building and climate resilience.
