Election of the President of the Caribbean Development Bank – Opening of Nominations
Summary

In accordance with the Regulations for the Election of the President of the Bank, the period for nomination of candidates for the position of President of the Caribbean Development Bank opened on July 12, 2024 and will close on August 26, 2024.

The President is the chief executive officer of the Bank and conducts the current business of the Bank, under the direction of the Board of Directors. He/she is responsible for the organisation, appointment and dismissal of the officers and the staff, subject to the general control of the Board of Directors.

Pursuant to Article 33 of the Agreement Establishing the Caribbean Development Bank and the Regulations for the Election of the President of the Bank, candidates for the position of President of the Caribbean Development Bank must possess the following experience, qualifications and competencies:

  • extensive experience in matters relating to finance and development in the public or private sector;
  • a track record of executive leadership and demonstrated managerial skills;
  • impeccable integrity, impartiality, and objectivity in the performance of the responsibilities of the position; and
  • ​effective communication and diplomatic skills needed to lead a global institution.

Nominations of candidates, together with a curriculum vitae of the candidate in the approved form, may be submitted by Governors to the Bank no later than August 26, 2024.
