Overview
CDB responds to the needs of its Borrowing Member Countries through a range of programmes, designed to support economic and social development throughout the Region. The programmes provide technical assistance and grant funding, among other things, and in some cases, are supported in collaboration with other development partners.

AFD/EU Caribbean Infrastructure Facility
Launched in August 2016, the Agence Française de Développement/European Union Caribbean Infrastructure Facility (AFD/EU-CIF) programme is a US$33 million initiative to reduce vulnerability and improve the quality of life for people across the Region through funding sustainable infrastructure projects.
Basic Needs Trust Fund
The Basic Needs Trust Fund is the Bank’s flagship poverty reduction programme. It provides grant financing to vulnerable communities.
Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund
The Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF) is intended to be a multi-donor fund, which will support the development of the creative industries (CI) sector in the Caribbean.
EPA and CSME Standby Facility for Capacity Building
The Standby Facility for Capacity Building is pool of financial resources provided by the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) for trade related projects in CARIFORUM countries which advance the CSME and EPA. All supported projects are supervised by CDB and implemented by local agencies.
Special Development Fund
The Special Development Fund Unified was established in 1983, and provides low-interest loans and grants of high development priority.
Supporting Resilient Green Energy (SuRGE) in the Caribbean Programme
SuRGE supports capital investments and complementary technical assistance projects to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, resilient and gender-equitable energy sector.
