Overview
The Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) has applied for financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount approximately equivalent to US$7.5 million towards the cost of the Seventh Power Project and intends to apply the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of BEL and upon approval by CDB, and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than BEL shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.
Eligiblity
Consultants and/or Contractors and/or Suppliers from all countries will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities.

Instructions
The following consultancy assignment will be procured under the project:
(a) Independent Engineering and Environmental Supervision Consultant; and
(b) Technical Assistance for BEL organisational review.
It is expected that it will be procured during the period March 2019 to June 2020.
The following goods and/or works and/or non‐consultancy services will be procured under the project:
(a) Goods and works for the interconnection of the Caye Caulker distribution system with the Ambergris Caye electrical system that includes the engineering design, procurement, construction and installation of approximately 10 km of 46 kV insulated high voltage submarine cable operated at 34.5 kV from Ambergris Caye to Caye Caulker, the take‐off structure at a selected site at the southern end of Ambergris Caye, the landing structure at a selected site at the northern section of Caye Caulker, approximately 5 km of of 34.5 kV underground land cable on Caye Caulker, installation of approximately 0.25 km of submarine cable at the “Split” crossing between the northern and southern islands of Caye Caulker, and construction of a new 7.5 MVA 34.5/6.6 kV substation on Caye Caulker.
It is expected that these will be procured during the period March 2019 to June 2020.
