The project will reduce the risks associated with landslide and flood hazards by rehabilitating and reconstructing critical infrastructure to better conditions than before Hurricane Tomas hit in 2010; upgrading and improving impacted emergency shelters to internationally accepted standards; and assisting the Government in disaster response and sea defence designs at Sandy Bay and Dark View. The works will reduce the vulnerability of the project sites and communities to future adverse weather-related events.
