The project will reduce risks associated with flood hazards in the Layou River Valley by the rehabilitating and reconstructing critical infrastructure to better than pre-flood event standards; constructing an emergency shelter and resource centre to internationally accepted standards and guidelines; and providing of technical assistance to assist the Government in an integrated vulnerability assessment for flood risk reduction.
