Overview
The Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (GOCB) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$28.5 million towards the cost of the Water Supply Improvement Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under a contract for which this invitation is issued. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of GOCB and upon approval by CDB, and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than GOCB shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.
The Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC), the Executing Agency, now wishes to procure Consulting Services for a Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation (CRVAA) Plan for WSC.
The objective of this consultancy is to support the efforts of WSC in the development of a Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) and in the formulation of an Adaptation Plan of Action responding to the vulnerabilities identified. The process for the preparation of these documents is to be participatory, with WSC leading the work, and with the active participation of key stakeholders. It will be focused on increasing the reliability and resilience of WSC’s capability to achieve its goals: the reliable provision of good quality water and wastewater services to its customers.
The consultancy is to be implemented over a period of nine (9) months.
WSC now invites interested eligible consulting firms to submit Expressions of Interest for the provision of these consultancy services.
