Overview

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) through the Community Disaster Risk Reduction Fund has allocated financing for two sub-projects in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).  CDB intends to carry out two baseline and knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) studies with accompanying gender analysis under a contract for which this invitation is issued.  The financing shall not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.  No party other than CDB shall derive any rights from the financing or have any claim to the proceeds of the financing.

CDB now wishes to procure consultancy services for the conduct of two disaster risk reduction and climate change baseline and KAP Studies; one in BVI and the other in SVG.  The objective of the consultancy is to carry out surveys in the respective sub-project communities and among targeted groups to determine the current levels of awareness about disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation strategies.  These baseline and KAP studies should be accompanied by a gender analysis.

The duration of the assignment is expected to be for a period of no more than three months.

CDB now invites interested eligible consulting firms to submit Expressions of Interest for the provision of the required consultancy services.
