October 12, 2009No. 22/09 - G NEWS RELEASE CDB and IDB to Co-Host Conference on Global Downturn The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will be hosting a regional conference on "Policies and Strategies to Face the Global Downturn: The Way Forward in the Caribbean". This conference will be held in partnership with the donor community in the Region. It will take place at the Hilton Barbados on October 15 and 16, 2009. The objective of the conference is to identify the policies and strategies needed to support the economic transformation of the Caribbean Region, to help governments identify the interventions needed to face the financial crisis in the short run, and to build an enabling environment to strengthen the private sector.
