Overview
The Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$43,323,000 towards the cost of the Bahamas Education Sector Transformation Project and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of the Government of the commonwealth of the Bahamas and upon approval by CDB and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than The Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Financing.
The following consultancy assignments will be procured under the project:
(a) A consultancy firm for the Design Review, Complete Design Service for Construction Drawings and Supervision Services for the Construction of one (1) comprehensive school.
(b) A consultancy firm for the development of an IT Strategy and Plan.
It is expected that these will be procured during the period November 2024 to November 2025.
The following goods and/or works and/or non-consultancy services will be procured under the project:
(a) Supply of school furniture, equipment/tools, ICT and learning resources for East Grand Bahama Comprehensive School (EGBCS) (4 Lots)
(b) Supply of school furniture, equipment/tools, ICT and learning resources for Freetown Preschool (4 Lots)
(c) Construction of the East Grand Bahama Comprehensive School (EGBCS).
It is expected that these will be procured during the period November 2024 to November 2025.
Eligiblity
Consultants and/or Contractors and/or Suppliers from member countries of CDB will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities. Potential Bidders/proposers are advised to review the detailed eligibility criteria detailed in Section 4 of the Procurement Procedures for Projects Financed by CDB (January 2021), as published on CDB’s website.
