October 13, 2011 No. 33/11-BD ST. LUCIA SETTLEMENT UPGRADING PROJECT TO RECEIVE CDB SUPPORT CDB is to provide a loan equivalent to USD6.233 million to assist the Government of St. Lucia in continuing its settlement regularisation programme and improving the living conditions of its citizens, especially lower income earners. The objective of project is to facilitate improved access to basic infrastructure and services for residents in selected areas of St. Lucia. Under the project, informal settlements will be upgraded and serviced lots provided. The project will also enhance the capacity of the Ministry of Housing, Urban Renewal and Local Government to carry out its mandate more effectively and efficiently. The project sites comprise 551 households in 11 informal settlements situated in 6 host community areas located in the Castries, Laborie and Vieux Fort districts.
