May 9, 2008No. 08/08 - BG NEWS RELEASE CDB TO HOST YOUTH BUSINESS FORUM IN CANADA A youth business forum will form part of the activities associated with the Twenty-Eighth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank, which takes place in Halifax, Canada, May 28 and 29, 2008. The objectives of the Forum "Youth in Business - Cultivating the Next Generation" is to facilitate dialogue between young people and CDB with a view to determining what role the Bank can play in improving business support and assistance for young people. The Forum will also facilitate dissemination of information on the Caribbean Development Bank and its perspective on youth business. A panel discussion will also be incorporated in the Forum, which will provide perspectives on youth business from the Canada Youth Business Foundation, Black Business Initiative of Nova Scotia, the Barbados Youth Business Trust and the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. The Forum will also provide an opportunity for young business owners to give their own perspectives on establishing business ventures (including challenges and suggestions for institutions interested in supporting youth businesses) by way of individual presentations. It is expected that at least 70 participants will take part in this encounter which will take place at the Norman Newman Centre for Entrepreneurship at Dalhousie University, on Thursday, May 29, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
