The new Private Sector Strategy (PSS) 2023-2028 seeks to expand on and deepen the private sector development aspects of the Private Sector Development Policy and Strategy (PSDPS) 2017-2020,

The new CDB PSS has two objectives. The first is to enhance private sector ecosystems in Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs) to facilitate the development of dynamic and internationally competitive, high-growth firms. This will lead to higher incomes and increased economic resilience at both the national and regional levels. The objective to enhance BMC ecosystems is based on a new relationship with the private sector, not only in terms of increased CDB support but also as a key partner in the region’s development. Fostering this new expanded partnership with the private sector is a second objective of the PSS.
